Nella sezione didattica ho deciso di inserire una piccola guida all’ascolto perché, io penso, che non c’è niente di meglio, per imparare a suonare la chitarra, di ascoltare i grandi e “rubare” da loro…..copiare i loro fraseggi, le loro ritmiche, i loro interventi durante il pezzo (sul cantato e sulle parti strumentali). I chitarristi da analizzare sono veramente tanti e i dischi una marea, però, vivendo in questi anni, abbiamo la fortuna di avere dei dischi di artisti che hanno condensato nel loro stile una sacco di maestri. Ho così deciso (per adesso) che i dischi consigliati all’ascolto sono tre, di tre chitarristi (che sicuramente sono sul podio tra i miei preferiti) che hanno racchiuso la tecnica e lo stile di tanti loro predecessori. Questi tre sono: Stevie Ray Vaughan (una miscela di tutto il blues, dagli esordi ai suoi giorni, con un grande impatto rock, Hendrixiano fino al modollo!), Brian Setzer (Rockabilly, Swing e Country tutti insieme e spesso nello stesso pezzo, grande finger picking e velocista nel fraseggio cantato), e, infine, Danny Gatton (chitarrista che ha preso blues, jazz e country, li ha messi insieme, e ha fatto tutta una serie di dischi strumentali, che non sono mai noiosi!!!). Qui di seguito troverete i miei dischi preferiti…….considerate che in ogni pezzo ci sono un bel numero di fraseggi (alcuni facili, altri veramente impossibili!!!), tutti belli e tutti da sapere se si vuole affrontare il tema della chitarra “HotRod” (ossia Old Style guitar trattata secondo i temi dei giorni nostri!!!).

In this didactic section I decided to put some pages dedicated to the listening guide 'cause, I think, that there's nothing better than listening to the great guitar players, taking from them their licks, their rhythmic parts....There are really too much guitar players to analize, but, livin' in these years, we have the great luck to have some CDs of some guitar players who have condensed in their style, the ideas of their teachers. The three CDs I prefer to start the HotRod Guitar study comes from three incredible guitar players (my favorites!!!). They are: Stevie ray Vaughan (a totally blues mix, from the first rural blues to the blues-rock invasion, with a powerful rock impact, Hendrix style!!!), Brian Setzer (Rockabilly, Swing and Country toghether, and sometimes into the same song, fabolous finger picker and really a fast player on the singed licks) and Danny Gatton (a guitar player who have mixed Blues, Jazz and Country, he recorded a lot of instrumental CDs that never make me bored!!!). Here's my favorite records.....You gotta know that there are an incredible number of licks, sometimes very difficoult to play, in every song in these records....and you gotta know these lick to play the "HotRod"style!!!
